With the game finally about to come out, I will be compiling information on this SWTOR strategy guide at a very fast rate and really ramp this site up over the coming weeks.

Game Concepts

If you are new to Star Wars The Old Republic, here is some basic information about the game.

SWTOR is based more off of the world of the wildly popular Knights of the Old Republic rather than Star Wars Galaxies (the previous Star Wars MMO).

Players battle in the Star Wars universe in an age 3,500 years before the events in the popular Star Wars movies take place. The battle is between the Galatic Republic (Jedi, Trooper, and Smuggler) and the Sith Empire (Sith, Bounty Hunter, and Imperial Agent).

In this game, the balance of power between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire is fairly even. The Sith come from a far region of space and are slowly starting to invade the Republic. Unlike the Star Wars movies, the Imperials have not yet gained complete control over the galaxy, which is probably a good thing considering in SWG, 90% of the player-base sided with the Rebels rather than the Imperial army, despite the Imperials getting by far the best rewards. The faction balance should be more balanced with the new storyline.


Galactic Republic vs Sith Empire

It is my recommendation in this SWTOR guide that if you are more interested in Player vs Enemy (computer) combat, then you will want to side with the Galactic Republic, whereas if you want participate in Player vs Player primarily, side with the Sith Empire.

While populations are much more balanced than Star Wars Galaxies, most players who have a love of PvE combat tend to join up with the Galactic Republic based on their allegiance with the “good guys” from the Star Wars films. In my experience throughout many MMOs, the “good” faction tends to have the better raiding groups and more stable guilds to choose from.

On the other hand, the players who tend to love PvP and start PvP groups have a tendency to pick the “evil” faction. For some reason the bad guys attract players who like to PvP, and as a result, it seems that when all else is equal, the bad guys win more PvP games. This goes for the Horde in WoW, the Defiant in Rift, and is likely to be the case for the Sith Empire in SWTOR.


Class Differences

The other primary motivation for picking a certain faction in SWTOR is that each faction has different classes. More information will be added to this SWTOR guide once the game is available for play.

With that said, here is the announced class list:


The Galactic Republic:

  • Trooper – The gameplay for this class actually looks awesome. You use primarily rifles and grenades. Gameplay looks like you are playing a character from Halo and running around in the Star Wars world. Players can specialize to become either Commando (DPS or Healing options) or Vanguard (DPS or Tanking options)
  • Smuggler – While it looks like a thief-type class on the surface, this is actually more like an Archer at heart. Light armor, high damage, and requires cover. The Jedi Consular’s Assassin specialization is actually close to WoW’s version of the Rogue class. Smugglers can specialize to become either a Gunslinger (two DPS options) or a Scoundrel (DPS or Healing options).
  • Jedi Knight – A melee class, can specialize as a tank (Guardian) or damage-dealer (Sentinel, though the Guardian has a damage-dealing talent tree too).
  • Jedi Consular – A melee and caster hybrid, uses more “force” play and less melee play. The Shadow advanced specialization can become either a Tank or Melee DPS (rogue-like class), whereas the Sage becomes a damage-dealing caster/melee hybrid or a healing class.


The Sith Empire:

  • Bounty Hunter – This is the Sith equivalent of the trooper. While the name is a lot cooler, gameplay looks similar – a ranged class with a lot of cool weapons. Oh, and of course a jetpack. The Powertech can become a Tank or DPS class, whereas the Mercenary has DPS and healing options.
  • Sith Warrior – Sith equivalent of the Jedi Knight. This is a melee class. The Juggernaut can Tank or DPS whereas the Marauder can only do DPS.
  • Imperial Agent – The Imperial Agent is the true thief archetype class. It can become both a melee class with stealth (Operative) or a ranged DPS class (Sniper). The Operative advanced class also has a healing spec, whereas the Sniper class has a debuffing spec (good for raiding).
  • Sith Inquisitor – This appears to be the only true damage-dealing “caster” class in the game. Its Sorcerer spec can either become an outright casting damage-dealer or healer, whereas its Assassin spec can become a rogue-like melee class or a tank. The Sith Inquisitor uses the dark side of the force to cast lightning spells like the Emperor in the original Star Wars did.


Recent SWTOR Guide Updates

Our latest addition to the SWTOR guide is our update to the SWTOR Credits guide. There I have recorded the best crafts and recipes that I have been able to make credits with (and noticed other people making credits with, too). We also finally completed the SWTOR Stats Guide for every advanced class and spec in the game. There are a ton of stats in SWTOR, but the stats guide helps clear things up as far as what each stat does. We will be adding specific guides for each class as well to this section to see the best way to gear out your character.

Additionally, check our list of SWTOR Datacron Locations. Datacrons are small relics found throughout the game world that provide permanent stat boosts or rare items known as “matrix shards” which you can combine into powerful enhancements for your gear.

As mentioned, this Star Wars The Old Republic strategy guide is going to be undergoing some major updates over the next week or two. The majority of the content is up to date for release and all of the old beta info has been edited out. The next step is to continue to add quality guides and content on various game systems and expand the Datacrons guide. Also, look for some video content to be added to the Datacron list section and more content in general added to the site, particularly regarding PvP.

Age of Armor Overview

Age of Armor provides players with an incredibly complicated and robust design system, but does little in the way of explaining how to properly navigate it. Players can customize almost every part of their Mech and participate in both PvE and PvP combat once they are happy with their design. Unfortunately, the slower-paced combat and hard to digest translations may deter many players from truly experiencing all that Age of Armor has to offer.

Ace Online Overview

Ace Online is an incredibly unique PvP oriented sci-fi MMO shooter. The best way to describe the game would be a fast paced PvP oriented StarFox. Sounds awesome, right? Well it is, so check it out. The game was originally released as ‘Space Cowboys’ in the United States and was published by Gpotato, but due to some licensing issues, Gpotato had to shut down their service for the game. The game has just recently be re-licensed to Subagames, so make sure you don’t play the game ‘Ace Online’ rather than ‘Air Rivals’ as Ace Online is the American version while ‘Air Rivals’ is the European version. Hop onto your gear and blast away your enemies in this fun fast paced sci fi MMO.

9Dragons Overview

9Dragons may seem like a traditional fantasy MMORPG but it has quite a few unique characteristics that make it stand out. During character creation you do select which starting location you prefer, with each of the 6 choices representing the base of one of the six clans, but it is not until level 25 that players chose their class. While there are four basic class types, each of the clans has a different name for them. Below is a short description of each class type, what each clan calls them and what weapon is preferred by each class:

Warrior: Masters of close quarter combat, warriors excel at dealing heavy damage directly to their opponent. Their main stats are Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength.
Strategist (Healer): Healers are the support class of their clan. They possess both healing and buffing spells with which to aid their allies. Their main stats are Essence and Wisdom.
Chi Kung Artist (Nuker): Chi Kung Artists are the masters of magic. They have by far the most damage potential but are frail in melee combat. Their main stats are Essence and Wisdom. Currently, Chi Kung Artists are the most powerful PvP class.
Holist (Hybrid): Holists are the jack of all trades who can stand toe to toe with their enemies but also have healing and supportive skills. Essence and Constitution are their primary stats.

Once you create a character and enter the world of  4Story , you will begin in a small village within the Kingdom of your choice. Here in the village, you will interact with 4Story NPCs to learn the basic information and receive startup items by clearing few simple quests. It simply is a training ground before you start your exciting journey through the world of Iveria. It’s a long and restless war. Most of the villagers were forced to fight in the war and died.
I’m sick and tired of people looking at me as if I’m cursed just because I was born in a so-called evil town.
Now I must put an end to this once and for all. It’s time for me to join Defugel’s great Legion seek for an answer myself. I wish I can find other meanings in life by ending this long tragic war.

How to create a guild

In order to create a guild, player must be Level 20 or higher. Player can create a guild by visiting Guild manager NPC at free of charge.

DeFugel Guild manager NPC can be found at Magnaksia Advanced base in Kether.
Craxion Guild manager NPC can be found at the Headquarter of Blo Brunak Magic knights in Malkuth.

The name of NPC for DeFugel is  Jimel
The name of NPC for Craxion is  Obidis

War in 4Story

Three kingdoms which are Defugel, Craxion, Broa exist within the continent of Iveria. And each kingdoms are tied to the multiple districts and territories. However, there also remain disputed areas which have yet to be ruled by any kingdoms on the continent. Within the areas, there is a castle to protect its own territory and levy taxes from 3 areas located in the territory at the cost of managing and controlling them. The castle can be owned by a victor of the castle siege warfare that allows only one guild from each different kingdoms that made a success of gaining the highest points from RvR (Monday ~ Friday) to participate.

The one of a kind guild that gained the final victory on the castle siege warfare is supposed to hold possession of the castle for 7 days until the next siege warfare and deserves the right to have a large income with receiving taxes from each item trading activities in the territory during the period. Meanwhile, the guild can monopolize all the local product items and add more guards or equipment for protection to prepare for the next castle siege.

Castle siege warfare on the continent of 4Story is not just a war between guilds. It is the war among kingdoms that both attacking and defending groups can allow all members who are belong to their own kingdom to join the war and let them fight for the victory through the mercenary system.

There are two types of mercenary system. User can participate as a Freelance mercenary with their own ability or as a Recruit mercenary team where the users will be equipped with arms, armors and skills that the Guild provides.

Skirmish Arena

For greater tactical depth, you can group with your friends and venture into our raid instanced dungeons. Battles here are fought with a lot of RTS elements. Bracing for danger and focusing your efforts on getting a breakthrough are constant requirements here. You put yourself in a tight squeeze and use your cunning, combat and shooting skills to get out alive. There are many variation and battles to choose from so you’ll always have something to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Mercenary System

Our Mercenary system helps bring a new dimension to game play. When a quest is too tough to be completed solo and you can’t find anyone to form a party with, calling a mercenary into battle to fight by your side will be on the top of your Must-Do list. Our Mercenary System allows you to hire a single mercenary solider or even a whole group of them to be your strong-armed backup and take your enemies down.

In every combat scene, you are allowed to put together a team of crime fighters with various skills and a great deal of combat expertise. Military strategies will be involved in building your own combined armies. Everything about how to position your combatants in a battle to secure victory oozes the depth and tactics only found in typical RTS MMO games.

RTS Elements

2029 Online is a unique new RTS title that features some familiar RPG elements in combat. In the post apocalyptic world that these characters inhabit, it’s kill or be killed. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the large scale battles in game quickly devolve into scenes of mass slaughter. Whether it’s some anger that needs venting or just sadistic enjoyment, 2029 finds that little bit of Rambo in all of us and lets him loose to wreak beautiful havoc on our enemies. Out-maneuver opponents, destroy their base and wipe the map clean of their troops. Strategic warfare has never been this easy. The RTS elements of this game are what really set it apart from other mass combat titles. Get involved in a skirmish against the AI, join in some wild melee combat, build bases, command Armies or collect resources. There’s so much to do, you’ll wonder when you’ll have time for completing quests and working your way through the immersive storyline.

Convenient Auto Locate

The 2029 Online development team is a dedicated bunch who put player enjoyment and fun first. With so many new games debuting to much fanfare and then slowly devolving into clickfests, they have done their best to make sure this doesn’t happen in 2029. This has led to the development of several new functions that have been a hit with testers. One of these is the quick locate system. Quick locate allows players to quickly and easily find their destination. With one click, your character will start along a short cut to wherever it is you want to go!

Corsair DIY

Whether on the football field taking hits, or on the battlefield enduring attacks, having the right protection is essential. Armored fighting vehicles provide that protection, and are an excellent mode of transportation as well. In the beginning, a newly purchased fighting vehicle will only speed up your movement. Later the preparation for combat begins.

3C Battlegrounds

3C are Three Corridors which offer players a chance to PK with each other. It requires skilled operation and perfect cooperation if you want to win.

Cooperation among teammates is more important than individual abilities when you join large-scale battles. Players should work with their friends together to build strong defenses to defeat enemies to win.

Clicking on your mouse too much, or too often may not be your idea of fun. Or it might simply be aggravating your arthritis. Either way, try out our Auto Attack for a hands free gaming experience.
